Going Pro

Now that the contracts are signed, I thought I would announce that I'm going to have a story (titled "First Steps") in the next Four Horsemen Universe Anthology, scheduled for May 1st, called "The Gates of Hell." I'll post links as soon as it's live.

2 Now that's recognition worth thousands of comments on blogs.
But now you're entering the combat arena.
This sort of reminds me about the scene from Eromanga-sensei, where Elf Yamada proclaims her superiority over Masamune on the basis of selling in hundreds of thousands (IIRC), while Masamune was only making tens of thousands. Her arrogance catches up with her very soon, when Muramasa appears, who sells by a million. There's a long stair to climb!

3 Oh, I have LOTS of experience with low sales (See "Kiwi" over on the sidebar). But the 4HU is one of the top selling MilSF series, with over 50 books already. It's such a broad setting too that lots of fantastic authors can play in it without stepping on any toes.

4 Two weeks to go! And I've already had a chance to proofread the file. (I was only meant to do my part, but I read the whole thing.)

Now, a lot of these stores are continuations from the other anthologies. And some of the author's write side-stories from their mainline books. But it's a really broad and fun universe. I've read all of them anyway, so it's been really fun to stick my toe in that sandbox.

5 BTW, I made Kiwi free the weekend The Gates of Hell came out. People, probably bots, sucked up 54 copies, which is more than I sold in the last few years.

0 reviews have resulted so far.
